5:48pm: This overdraft thing is driving me ****ing nuts.
Chased up the bank about it again today (they said they'd call back yesterday and didn't.) Turns out that my parents have to sign something and send it off to them before they can send anything to the solicitors. They sent this thing on 5th June, it's not arrived (probably due to the postal "service" rather than the bank). They have now resent it, which is nice of them.

This now means that the form won't be here until tomorrow at the earliest. The form then has to get sent back to them, another day (possibly two if it can't be signed before tomorrow evening.) It won't be with them until Monday. They won't send out the forms until Tuesday, probably. The solicitor won't do anything about them for at least a day after that. Wednesday at least, maybe Friday before we can actually get them signed and returned to the bank. It'll be sometime the week after next before they actually get round to organizing the overdraft!!! In the meantime, I have bills to pay. They'll honour cheques that make me go overdrawn for a charge of £25, I suppose, which isn't too unreasonable given that technically they could refuse them. But it's still bloody annoying that we have to clamber through all these postal and bureaucratic hoops to get stuff done.

Do I have the option of suing the Royal Mail for being crap, I wonder? Probably only if the bank sent the first set of documents by recorded delivery, which I doubt.

UPDATE: turns out it wasn't lost in the post, it was in my Dad's "stuff to do" pile and had got buried. I then explained why it was so urgent, the current financial situation and the fact I was going to get charged money, and they essentially said "oh, okay, have another £4500 as a short-term loan." This means I now owe them £15,000, of which £10,000 is meant to be short-term. But I have £10,000 sitting in the trust account already, and £4000 ish coming in soon (unless one of the groups cancels, in which case I shall have to pray that my insurance is good.)

Question for [info]skx and anyone with a clue about software

Does anyone know how to get emails off a POP3 server into Outlook which aren't in a folder called Inbox, or of any communities that I could post that query on? Ta.
