Business update
Today I've mostly been sending marketing emails, and have now done every university music group in England that I can find an email address for, and most of the drama groups as well. Tomorrow I'll start on Wales and Ireland, and sometime next week I'll get on to looking for groups in America.

The youth hostel in Florence have received the bank draft and can offer us extra nights, yay. Euro interest rates have been cut to 2%, which should hopefully mean that the Euro will creep up against the pound again (at the moment it's 1.4 euros to the pound, which has made me raise prices for trips to the eurozone, compared to a few months back when it was 1.5 euros to the pound, which also made doing maths with it a lot easier.)

Recent quote requests: a choir from Glasgow want to go to Brussels in September 2004 and sound enthusiastic about it; a brass band want to go to Amsterdam for a week; and a very attractive saxophone quartet want to come to the Edinburgh Fringe and do some busking. (No, I don't have an ulterior motive for wanting to give them a decent price for that. It's purely business-related. Ahem.) Finally, I've got a choir from London who need accommodation in Edinburgh and transport in London at the end of August.

I've redone the business plan, and it looks like I should make a profit for this tax year (April to April) which is excellent. I can then start paying myself a decent wage, and if I top that up with a little maths tuition on the side, I can plan on getting my own place sometime in 2004. Yippee!

Techie question: does anyone know how to make Outlook work with OpenWebmail? I want to send some HTML-enhanced emails, but can't do it unless I can get the POP3 setup to work, which currently it won't.

(I must start going to bed earlier).

they'd be more attractive if they didn't play the saxophone.

I think saxophones are very sexy, personally... low saxes especially. (Strangely, this isn't the result of a crush on a sax player, unlike my attraction to cellists.)

oh, and hello. How did you find me?

ah, well, cellists. yes.

I think I found you in a composer forum? I'm not a composer, but as musicians go, composers tend to be more verbal, so I figured they'd make better journal writers, yes? I'm a violist, but don't tell anyone.

Violists are good, every orchestra wants you. Even if they pretend not to. In fact, I have had quite a few crushes on viola players.

oi, negative livejournalists, note that I did not _apologize_ for being a violist, or denigrate violists in any way. I said, do not tell anyone that I am one.

Yeah, there's something sexy about violists. Also, they seem to know better jokes (I speak not for myself, but for those I've played with). Except for those little gay boys, who always seem so uptight. Why _they_ didn't stick to the violin is anyone's guess.

hello Emchen. pleased to meet you.

Oh, YUM to the saxophone quartet! I'm sure you have purely business reasons for giving them a decent price. And I would too, of course. *grins*

Glad that business things are going well. :)

*hugggggggggggggggggggggggggggggs*
