For all those who travel by train...
QJump is a good site. Easy to navigate, and you can buy lots of tickets and pay for them all together if you so wish.
But if your journey involves a change anywhere, then try this little trick. Break your journey down into sections and do each leg separately (e.g. Edinburgh to Cambridge - check the prices for Edinburgh to Peterborough, and then from Peterborough to Cambridge) and you'll find that often, the fares are a lot cheaper. The above saved me £13 on that journey.
However, the quality saving was on Edinburgh to Chippenham (booking this for a group during the festival.) Initial price when I put in "Edinburgh to Chippenham" - £55.10, any time of day. Virgin Value 14-day advance, Edinburgh to Bristol - £10.55. Cheap day single, Bristol to Chippenham - £3.75.
Total saving - over £40. Rah.
