Okay, tricky situation tonight...
I have to speak to F (who I kissed last week) and somehow work out a gentle way of letting him down, and making sure he knows that it was just a kiss, and a one-off thing. I don't want to start a relationship now unless it's something that I definitely want to last, and admittedly he's lovely, but I can't see a relationship between us lasting. How do you go back to just being good friends with someone? (okay, maybe I shouldn't have kissed him in the first place. It happened though, no regrets, except that now I have to deal with the consequences...) Agh, I hate relationship wibbles.

Um... see userinfo? Who are you, other than another person from Edinburgh?

I quite often glance into Edinburgers to see if there's anyone I know who's got an lj that I didn't know about (I've only been using this for a little while), out of sheer curiosity. And noticed [info]kaos_kitty's comment about you two going round Greyfriars... which is the church that I go to. Why do you walk around it? I'm curious.

Well, good luck with it. All I can suggest is to be clear about what you're saying - be kind, but don't be vague, or he might misunderstand and there'll be more hurt later on.

And maybe it won't be so bad.
I was in terrible dread of a conversation I had to have on The Morning After with a flatmate years ago at uni, after our other flatmate had decided we were "made for each other", got us both drunk and then locked us in a room together. Luckily though, after an hour or so of mutual havering and embarrassment we realised that both of us had exactly the same reservations about the whole situation, and that we were both trying to let the other down gently.
